Physiotherapist for children

After an invitation by NMG we’ve worked for five weeks in Nepal as physical therapist for disabled children. The first week we spent at several localities in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and panauti. We saw a lot of children with severe or less motor disorders. We started treatment and explained the assistants how to reach the highest level of motor skills. It was nice to see how the staff reaction was full of enthusiasm at our vision. In the fourth week we started our practical training and after those days they changed the goal of treatment! Everyone was busy with the training of functional skills. So we hope that our visit was useful. Keep continuing! Ruud & Jeanne, the Netherlands I meet friendly staff with an open mind. It feels good how to see the great interaction with the children. I respect the modern and social way of thinking in starting and expanding NMG. It deserves continuing attention and support!!

Physical therapist for children

Every morning again I was surprised by the most friendly welcome of the children at NMG. It was very pleasant to start the day at this way! It was a challenge for me to come to NMG to treat the disabled children and to assistants and the children, as well, to improve their skills .it gives me a good feeling that the parents take care, not only for their own child, bur also for other children! It was very good to see that the children can spend a large amount of their time in such a pleasant environment and atmosphere, created by the staff and the mothers! By the professional leadership of Bimal NMG has a lot of opportunities to the development of the organization and the center, and therefore development of the children!

To start I’d like to thank all the staff at NMG who have made this a wonderfully exciting time for me. Not only have I learned a lot about pediatric physio, I have been given a chance to experience an entirely new culture and way of life. You have been wonderful ambassadors and guides. I’m impressed by the ambition of the center and the energy of people put in to make the therapy center an important facility for the children of Bhaktapur, Panauti and kathmandu. The children of the center are wonderful to work with and responsive to the staff and service. It is great to see so many parents following in with the treatments. As a “western physio” it has been very interesting to see so many conditions no longer seen in Ireland. It is also very encouraging to see the high the high level of service provider with limited funds. I wish every one involved with NMG, the very best of luck with all future endeavors and if I can help, please contact me. Thank you for everything.

As we entered the grounds of Shree NM Griha School all anxieties were washed away by the overwhelming welcome from both the staff and children. The crowds of children falling over themselves to say Namaste never tired and is a fantastic way to start the day. This welcome was extended inside the physiotherapy centre where I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of equipment. The sole physio was very enthusiastic to share ideas, to help all of our development. The language barrier was challenging but we soon picked up enough Nepalese to get by with the help of the assistants and some very bright children. In addition to the main centre we also worked in two other branches which added variety to our week. My favorite moments were often on home visits where we ventured out into the community. It allowed us into more rural homes that we otherwise would not have been able to see. Over all I have really enjoyed my experience in Nepal and the vast contrast to my home in the UK.
