About Volunteers

NMG’s appeal for Overseas Volunteers
NMG runs on charity which obviously means it operates with limited resource donated by its magnanimous donors. However, the pressure on it is mounting day in and day out. It is due to the increased population of physically handicapped people, largely the victim of conflict, on one hand, and the scarce physio-therapy facilities in the country, on the other. To cope with the challenge, NMG should expand its services which will require manpower enhancement. NMG given its resource crunch can’t afford it. Hence, NMG appeals volunteers to stretch out their helping hands to serve people in distress.

Opportunity to Volunteers
NMG VolunteersVolunteers from overseas have two very significant opportunities. Firstly, they can get the opportunity to access different types of disabilities that people have been living with in the country. Secondly, they have the opportunity to serve the humanity in distress. Thus, volunteers from overseas whose heart bleed at the misery of fellow human, and volunteers who realize that their small effort can go a long way in changing somebody’s life, are encouraged to join NMG in its mission to serve humanity in distress. NMG welcomes them to join it and be a part of NMG’s holy mission.

Volunteers are expected to ...
Overseas volunteers whose heart goes out for fellow humans in distress needing urgent support are sincerely appealed for stretching out their helping hands. They are expected to help the handicapped directly by engaging themselves in their services, and also, help the target groups by helping the NMG. Overseas volunteers can help the NMG by contributing cash donations which will tremendously contribute to the sustainability and expansion of the physio-therapy program run by NMG.

Volunteers Experience
Ruud Touw, The Netherlands »

Physiotherapist for children

After an invitation by NMG we’ve worked for five weeks in Nepal as physical therapist for disabled children. The first week we spent at several localities in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and panauti. We saw a lot of children with severe or less motor disorders. We started treatment and explained the assistants how to reach the highest level of motor skills. It was nice to see how the staff reaction was full of enthusiasm at our vision. In the fourth week we started our practical training and after those days they changed the goal of treatment! Everyone was busy with the training of functional skills. So we hope that our visit was useful. Keep continuing! Ruud & Jeanne, the Netherlands I meet friendly staff with an open mind. It feels good how to see the great interaction with the children. I respect the modern and social way of thinking in starting and expanding NMG. It deserves continuing attention and support!!
